At least five people, including a mother and her son, were killed as a vehicle of prison guards rammed a rickshaw van on the subject of the Rangpur-Dinajpur road in Rangpurs Pagla Pir place upon Monday evening.
Local people, angered at the disaster, set shining the vehicle and barricaded the road, witnesses said.
According to Rangpur Kotwali police station, a pickup van of Thakurpara prison police hit a rickshaw van at 5:45pm from astern, killing five people upon the spot.
Protesting at the crash, local people set the prison vehicle upon blaze and highly developed blaze fighters put occurring the flare.
Inspector Abdul Aziz of Kotwali police station avowed the mistake. The deceased are identified as Irin Akter, 35, her six-year-earliest boy Sazzad, Aleem Uddin, 65, Dhananjay Roy, 33 and Sabil Haji, 65.
All of them applause from Rangpurs Taraganj and Gangachara upazilas.
