Bangladesh Bank to announce monetary policy on Thursday

Bangladesh Bank is set to announce its 6-month monetary policy on Thursday for the January-June period (2016).

Central bank governor Dr Atiur Rahman will formally announce the monetary policy. This will be the second half-yearly policy of the fiscal 2015-16. The first half-yearly policy was announced on 26 July last year.

According to sources at the central bank, the new monetary policy will have the main focus on promotion of private investment and containing inflation. It will be the continuation of the current one with focus on investment, low inflation and stability in foreign exchange rate.
